FANCY DRESS BALL
ROTORUA SCHOOL CHILDREN , t N MANY QUAINT COSTUMES v•• t ■ The floor of the Ritz ballroom was transformed into a colourful and moving kaleidoscope of quaint and picturesque figures last week, when the pupils of the Rotorua primary school held their annual fancy dress ball. The variety of the costumes was in itself a tribute to the thought and ingenuity employed in their .designing and the judges were presented with, a difficult task in allocating the prizes in the various classes. A welcome was extended to those •present by the headmaster, Mr. C. A. McKinney, who thanked the parents for their co-operation not only in connection with the ball itself, but throughout tho year. Mr. L. Ewart sj)oke on behalf of the committee, and also presented the dux prize for the school to tho winner, Frances McArthur. , During the first part of the evening dances and drill were /performed by tho pupils. The prize winners fjor fancy dress costumes were:—Primers: Fay Allen, Ray Diggle, Delphine Hooper, Colecn Crisp. Brian Mudgo. Seniors: Don Chap pel, Given Finn, Selwyn Davidson. Marie McMasters. The judges wore Mrs. T. Jackson and Mrs. A. E. Moncur, Mrs. G. H. Weir played the music for tho dancing and the drill,
