MAORI WOMAN'S FATE
POLICE INVESTIGATION . DEATH FOLLOWS INJURIES MOTHER OF FIVE CHILDREN ■ [BY TELEGRAPH —PBESS ASSOCIATION] GISBORNE, Sunday The police are investigating the death of a Maori woman, Matekino Grace, aged 32, of Tuparoa, who died in tHe Te Puia Hospital yesterday following injuries to the head. She was the wife of Dave Grace, of Tuparoa, and leaves five young children. Details are lacking as to how deceased received her injuries, as Tuparoa is in an inaccessible spot on the coast, 90 miles north of Gisborne. It is stated that her skull was fractured at Tuparoa on Thursday night, and that she did not recover consciousness. She wa3 taken to the hospital by her husband. An inquest will be held to-morrow at Ruatoria, before the acting-coroner and a jury. Tuparoa is a sheep farming district in Waiapu County.
