Morrison, who, in the House of Commons, announced tltiat the Government proposed as an emergency measure to. increase from 10s' to ~os an acre the subsidy payable to barley growers under the Agriculture Act for this year's crop, .met with a hostile reception at a meeting of farmers which h.i addressed at Lincoln. References to the Concession to barley growers were met with the criticism that, it _ was inadequate and a resolution was carried expressing lack of -confidence in the Government's agricultural policy.
