TEMPERANCE WORK
AUCKLAND EXECUTIVE AFTERNOON *TEA PARTY UNION MEMBERS PRESENT The final meeting for the year of the Auckland district executive of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held this week. The meeting took tfie form of an afternoon tea at the Farmers' Trading Company tea rooms, Hobson Street. The district president,, Mrs. H. Kasper, presided over a large gathering of members and. friends. Vocal solos wore sung by Miss W. Johnston and Miss Alice Rimmer. The accompanist was Mrs. N. Walker. Those sitting at the official table were the district president, Mrs. H. Kasper, the Dominion organiser, Miss E. Appleby, tho district corresponding secretary, Mrs. J. Williams, the district receiving secretary, Mrs. J. Joiner, and the district treasurer, Mrs. A. L. Lewis. The following unions were represented:—Auckland, Onehunga, Takapuna, Devonport, Northcote, Epsom, Remuera, Mount Roskill, Mount Eden, Ponsonby, Grey Lynn and Titirangi. Among those present were: —Mrs. Holmes, Mrs. Bragg, Mrs. Carr, Mrs. Hunter, Mrs. Brewer, Mrs. Tennent, Mrs. Neal, Mrs. Winstone, Mrs. Mountjoy, Mrs. Robinson, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Cassidv, Mrs. Tobin, Mrs. Young, Mrs. Brockelhurst, Mrs. Marlon, Mrs. AVells, Mrs. Denize, Mrs. Brcese, Mrs. Hales, Mrs. Graham Lewis, Mrs. Whitburn, Mrs. Sherman, Mrs. Haliburton, Mrs. Pace, Mrs. Bennett, Mrs. Morrish, Mrs. Ashby, Mrs. Spice, Mrs. Edlington, Mrs. Hartwell, Mrs. Langwill, Mrs. Holroyd, Mrs. A. Neal, Mrs. tVoods, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Gaddis, Miss C. M. McLav, Miss Dewar, Miss Matliieson, Miss Davis, Miss Lovatt, Miss Johnson, Miss Rimmer, Miss Piper and Sister Jessie. Mrs. H. Kasper presented a bouquet of Christmas lilies to Miss N. Dewar, as she was tho oldest member of tho organisation present at tho gathering.
