ESTATE OF £22,000
BEQUEST' OF HALF RESIDUE AMBULANCE AND KNOX HOME Provision for substantial bequests to the Auckland division of the St. John Ambulance Association and to the Knox Trust Home for Incurables at Tamaki is contained in the will of Mr. Samuel John Atkins, of 'Auckland, hotelkeeper, whose death occurred on November 20. The value of the estate has been estimated for purposes of probate at under £22,000. There are certain private bequests and then, after a life interest terminates, half of the residue is to be placed on trust in order that the income from it may benefit the two institutions named in either equal or unequal shares. The trustees also have it in-their discretion, if they think desirable, to divert the gift either temporarily or permanently to other charitable institutions in Auckland, or to pay out of the capital to these institutions.
