THE MINING MARKET DULL CONDITIONS RULE STEADY MARTHA LEVELS Dull conditions ruled in the mining market on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, and business was confined to a sale of Marthas at lato rates. WOOLWORTHS HOLDINGS The accounts of Woolworths Holdings (South Africa), Limited, show a net profit of 167,180 for the year ended September 30, compared with £60,003 in the previous year. # The preference dividend of b per cent absorbs £13,000, and the ordinary dividend at the unchanged rate of 10 per cent, £34,500. After transferring £lO 449 to general reserve, £9BO/ will remain to be carried forward, against £1376 brought into the accounts. Dividends from the subsidiaries are the chief source of income, and these investments are valued in the books it £321 386, exclusive of advances to subddiimes of £315,505, and 435,949 due from subsidiaries in respect of dividends declared but not yet paid.
