VICTORIA CLUB'S CONTEST The Victoria Pacing Pigeon Club held a raco from Christchurch, an airline, distance of COO miles. The competitors were limited to one bird each, and only five members clocked raco time. Results were as follows: Mr. N. Waddell's blk c No. 300, 1085 yds a min., 1; Mr. F. A yearling race" from Thames for the Gilbey Cup resulted as follows: —S. Hill's r c c Star Artiat, 898.8 yds a min, 1; A. Stanton's b c h River Queen, 808 yds a min, 2; A. Stanton's b c c Happy Harry, 897.6yd5, a min, 3. This was the last race for the yearling avcrago competition, which was won by A, Stanton with 178 points, E Gilbey filling second placo with 177 points and D. Wilson third with 138. The race from Christchurch for the Powell Cup resulted: —A. Balfour's rcc Fijreman, 1; A. Balfour's r c c Lonely, 2; D. Wilson's b c c Black Duke, 3.
