ALLEGED AWARD BREACH
FAILURE OF PROSECUTION POWER BOARD'S LEGAL COSTS [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] TE AROHA, Wednesday The failure of the third appeal by the Auckland Electrical Workers' Industrial Union against the decision of the Court in an unsuccessful prosecution against the Thames Valley Power Board for an alleged breach of the award in the ease of an assistant linesman was discussed at yesterday s meeting. The manager, Mr. IX. Sprague, said the total cost to the board in fighting the ease in its separate stages was in the vicinity of £3OO. Mentioning the liieavy costs, the chairman, Mr. J. Price, in answer to Mr. W. C. Kennedy, said that, had the union won its case, it w °uld have meant *he payment of between £2OOO and £3OOO in increased wages.
