ACTIVITIES OF LODGES OFFICERS INSTALLED RESULTS OF ELECTIONS The quarterly meeting of the general committee of the A.U.F.S. Dispensary was presided over by Bro. W. C. McCombie. Comparisons with tho previous year showed increases in prescriptions, sales and subscriptions, while membership had increased by 379. Tho Fearnought Juvenile Temple, 1.0. G.T., met in the Franklin Road Methodist Hall, P.C.T. Sister L. Pillbrow presiding over the opening ceremonies. Tho D.S.J.W., Sister Cant, was in attendance, and conducted the election and installation of officers for the ensuing term. Those chosen were. —• Chief templar, Bro. Geo. Bennfett; vice-templar, Sister L. Pillbrow; secretary, Sister P. Maxwell; P.C.T., Sister E. Pollock; chaplain, Sister Rhoda McKenzie; financial secretary, Bro. W. Bennett; treasurer, Bro. R. Brown; marshal, Bro. F. McCartney; deputymarshal. Bro. D. McCartney; guard. Sister Vera Pollock; sentinel, Sister Shirley McKenzie; assistant secretary. Sister K. McKenzie.

Tho Devonport Lodge, U.A.0.D., has just held a most successful past officers' night. Tho attendance was excellent, and quite a good number of the younger members turned up to see how the past officers performed tho ritual work. Two charter members, Bros. R. G. Tye and F. Fioldsend, occupied the senior chairs. Three new members were initiated. Tho district president, Bro. W. Caddy, presented the trophies for the lodge pairs bowling championship to Bros. Len Cusworth and R. Robertsoil. A cup also went with the trophies and title. Supper was served, and a pleasant social hour spent. Among the past officers present were Bros. S, T. Clark, It. Fuller ton, F. Worthington, S. Edwards, E. Davies, E. Laing, W. Mcintosh, It. Jackson, A. Muirhead and W. Oliver.

The Enterprise Lodge, No. 80, 1.0.0. T., met under Bro. S. Harvey, lodge deputy. A welcome was extended to Bro. Shakespeare, of H.M.S. Achilles, who was paying a farewell visit before returning to England. Bro. Shakespeare said he hoped to return some day to New Zealand, and the first thing he would do would be to renew his old friendships. The members heard with pleasure that Bro. Pepper, late of H.M.S. Diomede, will most likely be returning to New Zealand in the new year. Refreshments were served, and tho evening finished with ping pong.

The Loyal Te Puke Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F., met in St. Andrew's Hall, the noble grand, Bro. D. Drake, presiding over a largo attendance. Four candidates were initiated into membership, and two more proposals received. An address to the new members was given by the lecture master, Bro. L. H. Young, P.G. The second and final nominations of officers were received. A large number of members intimated their intension of attending tho group installation to be he d at Tauranga. Games and dancing, followed by supper, brought a happy evening to a close.

The Star of Newmarket Lodge, U.A.0.D., met in the Alma Street Hall, the Arch Druid, Bro. Stevens, presiding over a largo attendance. The chief business was tne election of officers for the new term and the following were chosen*: —A.D., Bro. Todd; V.A., Bro. M, Polkinghorne; A.D. bard, Bros. Smart and Marshall; V.A. bards, Bros. Atkin and J. Polkinghorne, jun.; inside guardian, Bro. Main; outside guardian, Bro. Morris, junt; Grand Lodge delegate. P.A. Bro. Munroe; auditor, P.D.P. Bro. Hampton; M.C., P.A. Bro. Thwaitcs; organist, Bro. Turner; musical director, Bro. Smart. After supper games of bowls were enjoyed.

The Auckland District Lodge, No. 3, 1.0. G.T., met in the Eden service lodge room. The attendance was one of the largest recorded for some considerable time. Bro. Ardern, D.C.T., presided. It was decided to issue a District Guide again and this will be ready for the next quarter. The officers' reports showed an increase in membership and finances satisfactory. Supper was served and Bro. J. T. Chaddlerton gave a resume of his trip to Australia and of his visits to tho lodges there.

The quarterly meeting of the Fountain of Friendship Lodge, No. 349, was held in the lodge room m Newton Road. One new member was proposed. The chief business was the election of officers and this resulted as follows: —N.G., Bro. W. J. Moulder; V.G., Bro. Wells; E.S., Bro. Priestley; warden, Bro. F. L. Cartwright; organist, Bro. C. A. Burrow, P.G.; M.C., Bro. H. A. le House, P.G.; guardian, Bro. Can tell; management committee, P.G.'s Cartwright, C. Burrow, H. le House, Houghton, Smith and officers of lodge. The installation will be held in January.

The quarterlv meeting of the Star of Otahuhu Lodge, U.A.0.D., attracted a large attendance, over which the A.D.,- Bro. C. 0. Bates, presided. In addition to the ordinary election of officers, a new committee was elected to control tho social activities of tho lodge. Among the visitors were D.P. Bro. Davis. Bro. i\ndy Mackav, P.D.P., Star of Newmarket, Bros. G. Stone, P.D.P., and D. Johnson, P.A., Light of Manukau, who were accorded a hearty welcome. Tho election of officers resulted as follows: —Grand Lodge delegate, Bro. W. E. Wells, P.D.P.; J.P.A., Bro. C. 0. Bates; A.D., Bro. G. Melrose; V.A.', Bro. H. Reid; 1.G., Bro. A. Mason; 0.G., Bro. D.
