FORM REVIEWED

BEARING ON PROSPECTS BEXLEY GIRL IN FAVOUR CHANCES OF KEWPIE'S KING BY ABAYDOS Although first day form should provide a useful guide on the prospects for the Waikato meeting on Saturday, tlu* presence of fresh horses in several races will give added interest. The President's Handicap will 'bo strengthened with the addition of Bexley Girl, who was absent on Saturday. Bexley Girl's Addington form was high class and' the fact that she was second to Fine Art and Lightning Lady, who were receiving 21 yards, is sufficient to prove her form was good. Kewpie's King, whoso two seconds last Saturday were full of merit, should again race well, in spite of his 12 >ards penalty. At his last meeting with Bexley Girl ho was giving her 36 yards in a mile and a-half, and ran second. Ho won tho Labour Day Handicap with a solid effort and is improving with racing. Our War, winner of the Waikato Handicap, was third in the Labour Day Handicap and has made good progress in the interval. He won well on Saturday and led all the way. Another win will put him in line for tho Auckland Trotting Cup. Great Chum ran one of his best races for third, and his effort augurs well for his chance hero. He should derive a good deal of benefit from the race, and will be meeting Our War and Kewpie's King on 36 yards and 12 yards better terms respectively. Chance lor Proletarian Gay Sister was not produced on Saturday, but she is a solid mare with good performances at the distance, and won tiio Autumn Handicap at Claudelands in May. A newcomer to attract attention is Proletarian, who, from IS yards, was second to Gay Sister in the good time of 4.30 3-5. Ho was second to Kenworthy in the August Handicap at Epsom and third to x\oble Prince and Navy Bluo in the Jellieoe Handicap, going 3.17 3-5. The Frank Worthy horse has trained on satisfactorily and has to be respected. Navy Blue, although unplaced in tho Stewards' Handicap, cannot be overlooked, in view of her previous displays. She ran 3.17 1-5, when second to Noble Prince, and afterward won twice at a mile and a-quarter and was third at two miles at the Wellingt-on Trotting Club's meeting. Sir Frank was the most impressive of the unplaced horses on Saturday, and in two starts finished just behind tho dividend-payers. A little improvement, which may be expected, should give him good prospects. Our Peggy was not discredited in her effort and she was closer at the finish than at any other stage. Sho is in good condition and this should assist her. Sandusky was disappointing, but it was not his true form and he is capable of a better display. Musketeer failed to show his best and Policy had even' chance. Tho race is full of possibilities, but the main fancies may be Bexley Girl, Kewpie's King, Great Chum, Our War and Navy Bine.- 7 • Glass Sprinters The Visitors' Handicap has drawn a fine field of sprinters and it should provide a stirring contest. Although she is back another 12 yards, Fernbrook Lass only needs to reproduce her brilliant effort of Saturday to be dangerous. Kewpie's King should again race prominently. Star Pronto came home very resolutely for third placo on Saturday and showed signs of returning to form. With a little better luck in the running, ho will have a fine chance of improving on the first day effort. Our War is a high-class spnnter, and Compass should have prospects. Eighteen Carat made 'a creditablo showing and should be improved for the race. Great Chum has shown fine form at the distance and is in good order. Sandusky is nicely placed and should go well. Policy showed a bold front for most of the way in the two-mile race last Saturday and should be dangerous. Some to be favoured may bo Kewpie's King, Sandusky, Policy, Star Pronto and Fernbrook Lass.

COLT BY LORD WARDEN SUCCESSFUL AT PERTH One of the best of the early two-year-olds in West Australia this ' season is Saint Warden, a bay colt by Lord Warden from the Silverado— Starmist mare, Halo. Saint Warden was sold bj' his breeder, Mr. G. A. Kain, at Trentham, for 325gn5., his purchasers being Messrs. S. J. and N. V. Mills, the owners of Footmark. At tho recent West Australian Turf Club's meeting in Perth Saint Warden was sent out second favourite for tho Hamelin Handicap, five furlongs, in which he carried top weight, and he beat the favourite, a filly named Apt, to whom he was conceding 31b. PLANS FOR CORONATION WOODVILLE ENGAGEMENTS The only three-year-old engaged in tho Auckland Cup is Coronation, who is to contest the middle-distance hack events at the Woodville meeting, and much will depend on his showing there whether he will contest tho two-mile event at Ellerslie on Boxing Day. By Limond from Jewel of Asia, Coronation has been given every opportunity to develop, and his connections have hopes of him proving a stayer. FEELING OF REGRET Steve Donoghue has experienced instantaneous success as a trainer, but the urge to ride is still with him. At a recent Pontecraft meeting, while watching the jockeys being weighed out for a race, he observed to an acquaintance:— "I never look at the scales without feeling regret that I am not to bo weighed out to ride. I miss it all very much." s RACING FIXTURES December .10 —Hororata Racing Club. December 10. 12—Woodville District Jockßy Club. December 17 —Waipa Racing Club.
