MINISTER DECLARES WAR CONSERVATION OF BUSH PRIMARY CONSIDERATION [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] INVE RCATt GILL, Tuesday "I have declared war on the lot —wapiti, chamois, thar," said tho Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, replying to a deputation from the Southland Acclimatisation Society to-day. A plea was made bv a member of tho deputation for consideration for wapiti, because of the attraction for overseas visitors, par-' ticularly sportsmen. "I am not prepared to support any particular movement to induce peoplo to come here at the expense of sonic* thing more beautiful than wapiti-* our native flora," the Minister added"lf we fail to conserve. that bush wo are committing a grave breach of trust. I have declared war on the lot. I am sorry, but that is the position. They are doing fi lot of damage.".
