SEARCH FOR TREASURE

BOYS AT STONE JUG Stories that have been told of tho early history of tho old Stone Jug, now in course of demolition, have probably given some of the youths of the Western Springs district an idea that there might bo some treasure to he found in tho ruins of the old building, and during the week-end small search parties did some fossicking. Ripping up a few floor boards, they found that thcro is a shallow cavity below, and this space was subjected to a close scrutiny in the hope that coins dropped by former patrons of the old-time hostelry may have lodged there. Workmen engaged on the wrecking of the solid stone walls have also kept a close eye on any cavity likely to have been used as a hiding place for valuables, but so far none of the searchers has reported a discovery.
