£1895 DAMAGES AWARD
INJURY TO BOY'S EYE STRUCK BY MOTOR-CYCLE [«Y TET.KGHAPII —PKEB9 ASSOCIATION 3 - WELLINGTON. Tuesday After ft retirement of a little over an hour, a jury in the Supreme Court at Wellington to-day returned a verdict for the plaintiff in an action in which damages amounting to £2545 were claimed 011 behalf of a boy of eight for injuries to an eye received when he was knocked down by a motor-cycle in Newtown nearly two years ago. The jury awarded £45 special dam. ages and £IBSO general damages. The. plaintiff was Gordon Albert Steel, who sued through his father, Albert Edward Steel, and the defendant Desmond Claire Williams, upholsterer. The Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, presided. The hearing of the case lasted two days.
