ARRIVAL OF JONATHAN MATCH AGAINST BLOMFIELD CONTEST AT CARLAW PARK "I don't think there's much need to worry about the result of the bout, providing, of course, that I get the same treatment from the referee as Blomfield receives," was the confident assertion of Brother Jonathan, the mammoth Mormon wrestler, when questioned regarding his prospects in the contest to be staged at Carlaw Park on Saturday night. "The only thing that is worrying me is whether Blomfield will be good enough to make a match of it. Blomfield has had no> competition in winning his New Zealand title." 5 ;

However, Jonathan admittod that he had not yet seen Blomfield in action, and no one would be more pleased or ready to pat him on the back than himself should the New Zealander exceed his expectations. He said he had been given to understand that Blomfield placed great reliance on his octopus clamp, but he felt himself quite capablo of handling matters while the New Zealander was looking for his favourite hold.

The Mormon proved the greatest drawcard there has been in Australia this season. He drew capacity houses wherever he appeared, the attendances being as high as 16,000. He had a very} successful season from a competitive' point of view and, as an indication of i his class, he mentioned that he had i beaten Pat O'Shocker four times in | succession. On the last occasion, he i took two straight falls from O'Shocker in four rounds. Leading men over whom the Mormon has secured decisions are Lopez, Arjan Daz, Ed Don George and Joe Savoldi. The visitor, at the age of 34, looks the perfect physical specimen, and the combination of his powerful frame and full black beard gives him a striking appearance. He caused a sensation at' Bondi during his visit to Australia when he appeared in the streets in a red sweat suit, which only served to heighten the effect of his 18 stone of bone and muscle. "Even the trams stopped," he remarked humorously.
