Tuatara, a Maori,' for consumption off licensed premises at Tauhei, was ad- | mitted by William Noble in the Mor-? • rinsville Police Court yesterday. He pleaded not guilty to a further charge of supplying liquor, well-knowing the i man was~a'"prohibited person. He was I fined £2O, in default one month's im- ! prisonment, on the first charge. No : time was allowed to pay. On the other charge he was convicted and dis- J charged. - i Keith Burnett was fined £5 and costs for supplying intoxicating liquor to Peter Tuatara for consumption off licensed premises. Constable McMullan saicl accused was 19 years of age. He had attended the show at Hamilton oil October 29 and procured liquor, some of which he gave to Tuatara. Peter Tuatara admitted being found drunk, committing a breach of nis prohibition order and using indecent language at Morrinsville' On the last charge he was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment. For the breach of his prohibition order he was fined £2 and costs and on the charge of drunkenness lie was convicted and discharged. E. G. Bodmin pleaded guilty to supplying beer to Tuku Aemo and Tau Hopa for consumption off jicensed premises. Constable McMullan said accused, a taxi-driver, had been asked by Aemo to purchase some beer and had done so and driven the two home. He was fined £5 and costs on each charge. Tuku Aemo admitted assisting Bodmin in the commission of the offence and was fined £5 and costs.
