FORBURY PARK EVENTS EIGHT HORSES IN HANDICAP MORELLO IN STRONG DEMAND GOOD PERFORMERS ENGAGED The Forbury Park Trotting Club's Spring Meeting will be concluded today, when the chief events will be the Forbury Handicap and the Recovery Handicap. CHAMPION TROTTER f PROPOSED GREYHOUND VISIT CLUBS FEAR FINANCIAL LOSS [BY TELEGBAPH —PBESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCH, Friday Greyhound, the world champion American trotter, is now unlikely to make the suggested trip to New Zealand for' a series of match races, as officials 'Of the principal trotting clubs in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland donot view the project with the same enthusiasm as its sponsors, a local citizens' committee. There is still a possibility that satisfactory arrangements • may be made, but, if an overseas visitor does come, it is more likely -to be the champion pacer, Billy Direct. • ( The committee of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club met to consider the matter last night , and,' while no official statement has been issued, it is learned that U majority of the members see many, difficulties in the way of arranging the visit without incurring financial loss. PADISHAH AND BARAN FUTURE PLANS DISCUSSED COLT FOAL TO GOLD TRAIL [BY TELEGBAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] HASTINGS, Friday After ft few days' holiday, Padishah I is on the' Hastings tracks, looking all the better for his trip to the South Island. He is being kept up to the collar as' his owner-trainer, Mr. J. Hennah, lias decided to essay tho Auckland Cup again. In the autumn, Padishah, in all pl-obability, will be taken to Melbourne for the Australian Hurdle Race and the distance, three miles and aquarter, should suit him. Tho Foal Stakes and Koyal Stakes may not see Baran in action. His trainer, J. H. Jefferd, wishes him to have every chance, with a race or two in tho autumn, and then a "thorough preparation for the Australian Derby. The .other Bulandshar colt in Jefferd's 6table, Indian Sun, a half-brother to the Mitchelson Cup and Avondale Crip winner, Solarium, has recovered from complaints that have prevented him racing this season. He will race at Woodville and tho Ellerslie summer meeting. Nora Gregor is being given a spell. Hagen in some quarters is selected as the likely winner of the Great Northern Derby, for which race ho is being prepared. \ Tho Auckland Cup winner, Gold Trail, has produced a chestnut colt by tho Fairway horse, Tiderace.
