GISBORNE PREPARATIONS DRIVE FOR FUNDS PLANNED [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] GISBORNE, Saturday A decision to conduct a drive in Gisborne from December 3 to December 10 for funds toward the development of the Waikanao Beach Park, which is to bo Gisborno's Centennial memorial, was made at a representative meeting of delegates of public bodies. Representatives of the following bodies were appointed to make a cnnvnss: —The Borough Council, Thirty Thousand Club, Beautifying Society,'' Waikanao Beach Society, Centonnial Committee, Wainui Surf, Life-Saving and Swimming Club, Rowing Club, East Const Bowing Association, Y.M.C.A., Boy Scouts, Boxing Association, Poverty Bay Rugby Union, Post and Telegraph Pastimes Club, and tho Women's National Reserve. A recommendation was made to change tho name to Centonnial Park at an early date.
