CITY FIRE VICTIM
INQUIRIES BY THE POLICE IDENTIFICATION INCOMPLETE The police still seek further identification of Mr. Jack McDonald, aged about 50, who died in the Auckland Hospital on Tuesday morning from burns and shock suffered in the fire at 117 Grey's Avenue the night before. A young man called at the city morgue on Tuesday afternoon and told the attendant that he knew McDonald well. He identified* the body, but made no mention of his name, nor did he go there with the knowledge of the Eolice, who wish to get in touch with im, so that the deceased may be identified. The police description of deceased is as follows:—Height, about 6ft.: brown hair, largo noso, heavy eyebrows and large features; fairly strong face; weight, about 12J stone. The police could not find any personal possession which might help them to trace relatives. Mr. T. P. McKenna, aged 56, who was injured in the fire, had recovered sufficiently yesterday to be discharged from hospital. The other injured man. Mr. Arthur Alcock, is still in hospital and his condition is considered to be serious.
