ACTIVITIES JUSTIFIED
CHAIN RETAIL PHARMACIES INQUIRY IN NEW SOUTH WALES SYDNEY. Nov. 0 Tho activities of chain retail pharmacies are completely justified in tho report furnished to the Government by Mr. Justice Brown, president of the Industrial Commission of New South Wales, who inquired into their operations. He found that tho main local companies, all of whom have several branch pharmacies in the cities, suburbs and country centres, conducted their businesses along efficient lines and gave excellent public service. Mr- Justice Brown saw no valid reason for the suggestion that such companies prejudiced the ordinary chemist and thus should be prohibited from competing, and he expressed the opinion that it would bo a foolish political policy to attempt to regulate the operations of chain pharmacies. The chemist must meet business competition just in r tho same way as any other busi-, ness people.
