STATE HOUSING
ACTIVITY AT WHANGAREI 18 DWELLINGS OCCUPIED [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Wednesday Of the 32 State houses under construction in Whangaroi, 18 are now occupied, while the remainder -should be tenanted before the end of the year. At present the houses are being completed at tho rate of about one every four or five days. Contracts have been let for a further 20 houses to Mr. A. Walker, who has the present contract, and a start has been made on these. Preliminary work on the preparation of the sites and the roading of tho new areata is being undertaken by the Public Works Department. Contracts for the erection of tool sheds and, where required by the tenants, garages have been lot, in connection with the houses already occupied. ~
