YACHT RACING
18-FOOT WORLD'S TITLE COMPETITION AT AUCKLAND (Received November 0, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY. Nov. 9 Mr. W. Scahill, owner of Taree, which won the 18-footer world's championship at Sydney last January, states that the next race will bo sailed at Auckland during the visit of the four Sydney boats. He has already sent the cup to Auckland. There was still sonic doubt about the Taree going tp Auckland, he said, as her skipper. Mr. B. Swinburn. has not yet been able to obtain leave, but hoped to do so. Even if Taree is unable to make the trip in defence of her title, the race will be sailed at Auckland in February. It is probable that the cup will arrive in the care of Messrs. G. M. Dennes and T. C. Webster, who went to Sydney last month to make final arrangements for the visit of the Sydney IS-footers. They return to Auckland next Monday.
