WRESTLING

CONTEST ON SATURDAY BLOMFIELD-O'SHOCKER RETURN When Lofty Blomfield and Pat O'Shocker staged such a hectic wrestling contest over six rounds a fortnight ago, O'Shocker appeared to have the upper hand, and, had he not slammed Blomfield outside the ropes, it seemed as though he wtfuld have won tho match. Blomfield, however, is so confident of success in the return bout next Saturday that lie is prepared to forfeit any share of the winnings should O'Shocker take one full in eight rounds. This seems a tall statement to make, but it must be remembered that Blomfield usually appears to better advantage against a man whose tactics he has already encountered. So far this year the Aucklander has maintained the No. 1 position in this country and it is hoped before the close of the season to match him against Australia's best. . Following are the amateur preliminaries:— It. Young (Surrey), 13st, v. C. Semmell (Auckland). 12st 41b; K. McLeod Lyiindale), HlsOlb, v. D. Tucker (Leys), lOst 41b; C. Mcintosh (Surrey), I3si Olb v. C. lassmore (Auckland), last Mb. Emergency: J. Moore (Leys), lost Gib, v. C. McLcod (Lyiindale), Hist 411).
