£124 COMPENSATION
CLAIM BY GOLD .MINER ARBITRATION COURT DECISION Judgment was delivered by the Arbitration Court yesterday in a claim by James Thomas Dowse, miner, of Waihi (Mr. Sullivan), from the Martha Gold Mining Company (Waihi), Limited (Mr. Hore), for an injury alleged to have been received in the course of plaintiff's employment. Plaintiff alleged that on February 4, 1938, lie was backing a, full truck of quartz when both his feet slipped. Plaintiff fell backward, striking the lower part of his back on a buffer and receiving injuries to his spine. As a result, he was still disabled from earning wages. The Court awarded plaintiff £124 compensation. ,
