CHARITABLE AID
ADMINISTRATION CRITICISED MR. J. GUINIVEN'S VIEWS An attack on the administration of charitable aid by the Auckland Hospital Board' was made at the meeting of the Takapuna Borough Council last night by the Mayor, Mr. J. Guiniven, when letter on the subject of granting relief was received from the .Minister of Health, the Hon. P., Fraser.
The Minister, advised that the Hospital Board considered the relief granted in Takapuna did not warrant the appointment of an officer to administer relief. "I told Mr. W. K. Howitt, the North Shore representative on the Auckland Hospital Board, that it was no use dealing with the board," said Mr. Guiniven. In his opinion, the time was ripe for a complete overhaul of the administration, the Mayor continued. It would never be better while it was in the hands of the Auckland Hospital Board. After further discussion the Mayor pointed out that the Minister had loft it open for the council to forward further information and it was decided to take advantage of this.
