ESCAPE FROM DROWNING

ITALY'S GREATEST DRINKER WINE FLOODS TINY CELLAR ROME, Oct. 17 Italy's mightiest drinker narrowly escaped death by drowning in wine recently. Ho is Giovanni Birachi, aged 55, of Intra, near Lake Maggiore. After having drunk all the wine in his kitchen, he went into his tiny cellar, where he lay down under a wino barrel, and turned on the tap. Becoming alarmed at his lone absence, his family went below. The wine was up to the ears of the blissfully unconscious when his son dragged him away.
