DEMOLITION OF WHARVES
WHANGAREI HARBOUR [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] •WHANGAKEI, Friday Owing to tho transport facilities now offering by tho railways and tho roads, a number of small wharves around tho Whangarei Harbour aro of littlo uso, as tho freight that formerly cumo over them is being handled by other moans of transport. Tho Whangarei Harbour Board has decided to demolish two wharves near Oakleigh, these now being of no further uso to tho district. Tho board's plant was transferred to the KCeno this week for tho purpose of carrying out tho work.
