YOUNG WOMAN'S ORDEAL " CHOPPY SEAS IN HARBOUR RESCUE BY NAVAL CUTTER The predicament of a young woman, Miss Marjorie Colegrave, of Northcote, who was marooned for some hours yesterday on the Watchman » Island, was relieved by the timely arrival of a crew from the flutter of H.M.S. Leander. V The young lady set out in a canoe at 10 o'clock yesterday morning from Northcote, and landed on Watchman Island, off Ponsonby. She fpund it impossible to make the return journey owing to the choppy sea and strong breeze. Miss Colegrave remained alone on the island until four o'clock in tho afternoon, when the cutter from H.M.S. Leander came on the scene, > In response to calls from the younfc woman, the crew took her off, and ; with the canoe in tow, returned to Northcote.
