MILK IN SCHOOLS
PRICE TO PRODUCERS CONFERENCE SUGGESTED As a result of a decision made by the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council at a meeting yesterday, a conference between the Milk in Schools Committee, representatives of the producers and of the Government, is to be recommended to consider the price being paid to producers supplying milk to schools. Members of the Milk in Schools Committee informed the council that they would urge that any price agreed upon should be made retrospective to September 1. It was also stated that a meeting of the committee would probably be hold next week. The chairman of the council, Mr. 1. J. Goldstine, said that in his opinion a conference would be the fairest way of dealing with the question. If a satisfactory price could not be agreed upon the Milk Council would fix it.
