The effete of the new scale of wages for teachers at Grade O of which there are seven under the board's control, was explained at yesterday's meeting!, of the Auckland Education Board. Teachers at such schools, at .which the roll number is less than nine, previously* were .paid only £ls a year, and the parents of the pupils were required to provide the teacher with free board, or to contribute toward , the cost of his board. > The new scale of salaries provides that teachers It such schools will receive £l3O a year, as from October 1.
