NEW VALUATIONS
PENDING ASSESSMENTS 'MANY AREAS AFFEOTED DEPARTMENT'S ACTIVITIES New valuations of properties are likely to be issued by the Valuation Department immediately following March 31 next not only for a number of city areas but also for several counties and other districts within the Auckland Province. Areas in the city that will be subject to new valuations will be Tamaki, Orakei, Point Chevalier, Eden Terrace, Archhill nnd Avondale, Except for several small portions, the valuations have "already been made in these districts, although revisions will be necessary before March 31 next. -The valuation of the main city area, which takes in Ponsonbv, Newton and Grafton, in addition to the business portion, is likely to start about the beginning of next year, but new valuations will .not be issued before March 31, 1940. This central portion of the city was previously valued in 1922, and, according to authorities, it is not anticipated that new valuations will show much change from the level then recorded. Somo of the later valuations of various districts are likely, to Bhow a wider variation from those ruling to-day. The "VVaitemata county, except for the Mairetahi riding, which was revalued up to March 31* last, will be .-revalued to March 31, 1939. Other counties it is proposed to revalue up to March 31 next are Piako, Thames, Kawhia, Taumarunui, Whangaroa, Hokianga and Qtamatea. The Huntly borough is also on the list for revaluation, and the new figures, together with those of the counties mentioned, will be issued immediately after j March 31. ■ I
