The Minister conferred privately with reprey sentativefl of / the 'miners arid the colliery proprietors, and a roundtable talk ensued without reaching a settlement. > v*. ■-r
The conference adjourned until tomorrow. ' : . , The miners' representatives held a special meeting this evening to .determine how far they could go toward a settlement as the result of the discussions with the owners earlier in the day. The outcome of this meeting will be communicated to the ■ Minister of Labour in-the morning. . , ; ' : The position is regarded as dehcate in view •of the recent judgment of Mr.' Justice Cantor, who held that the miners, were, not justified, in advancing new ciaims While already bound by the existing award, which the owners insist should be > observed. < -
