INSTITUTE AFFAIRS
Auckland Centre.—An address was given by Miss Kay Goodsrm at the monthly meeting, at which Mrs, Xeal presided. Demonstrations of floral and pewter work were given by Airs. Rothery and Air. Culpan. respectively. Songs were given by Madame Winifred Osborne and Aliss Hanigan. The room fund sub-committee reported that a successful bridge party had been held during the month. Arrangements were made for a visit from Mrs. Kelso, the Dominion organising secretary. Thames.—Aliss Dunlop presided at the monthly meeting. Airs. Goodwin gave a reading on superstition and .Mrs. Hill demonstrated how to make a crocheted woollen dog. A debate was held and duets were given by Airs. Marshall and Aliss K. Rowc, who worn accompanied on the piano by Aliss Wishart. The competition was won by Mrs. Wells, with All's. Cox second. Brisk business was done at the trading table, and afternoon tea was served by Airs. Barker, Mrs. Langford and Mrs. Macauley.
