LAWN TENNIS
PAST SEASON AT PAPAKURA A successful past season was reported at the annual mrrtinp: of the Papakura Tennis Club. It was derided to play in the outersuburban competitions again this season. The club won the A grade and was runner-up in the B grane last season. Officers were elected as follows:—Palron, Mr. E. IX McLennan: president. Mr. J. A. S. Slack; vice-presidents, Messrs. B. C. Carpenter. J. F. Johnstone, A. H. McLennan, G. F. McDonald; secretary, Mr. E. Cooker; treasurer, Mr. A. Beams; auditor, Mr. B. C. Carpenter; club captain, Mr. L. K. (larlick; vice-captain. Mr. (.!. Sutton; committee. Mrs. L. K. Garlick, Misses C. McDonald, F. CTHara. Messrs. D. Evans, R. Irvine, 11. Wishart. II was decided to open the season on October S.
