THREAT TO INSPECTOR

YOUNG DRIVER CHARGED COURSE IN CIVILITY ORDERED [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] GISBORNE, Thursday An 18-vear-old youth appeared before Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M,, in the Children's Court charged with using threatening language. Tho charge was brought by Traffic Inspector Nowell, who in evidence said that when he stopped the defendant's car the defendant said: "For two pins I'd crack you. You are hiding behind the majesty of the law. Take off your uniform, and I'll fight you no.w." The defendant was also charged with driving without a licence, and without due care and attention. The magistrate adjourned the three charges until October 26 on the condition that the youth attend a course of courtesy and civility by Traffic Inspector Nowell.
