LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

Parnell.—The Parnell branch of the League of Mothers met recently. In the absence of the president through illness, Mrs. J. McDowell presided. Visitors included Mrs. S. 0. English (provincial president), Mrs. Patterson (Roslyn branch), and representatives from Mount Eden and Epsom. Miss Grenfell Spencer described a visit to the United States and Mrs. Arthur Bush sang, Mrs. Stewart playing her accompaniment. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Hay, Mrs. Stead, Mrs. Wallace Adams and Mrs. Barnes.

Manurewa.—An interesting a*d dress on League aims and ideals was given by Mrs. F. Whvte at a meeting of the Manurewa branch. Mrs. Haughev presided. Songs were sung by Mrs. Roberts, after which the hostesses, Mrs. Claude and Mrs. Johansen, served afternoon tea.

Sandringham.—At a meeting of the Sandringhnm branch, presided over by Mrs. E. Rich, songs were sung by Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Beec-roft gave elocutionary items and pianoforte solos were played by Miss Mavis Beecroft. Ait address 011 the work in connection with Salem House was given bv Mr,s. Graham.
