DIAMOND WEDDING

MR. AND MRS. N. C. NELSON EARLY WELLINGTON SETTLERS The diamond wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Nelson, of Mount Eclen, will be celebrated to-day. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson were among the early settlers in the Wellington Province. Born in Denmark in 1851, Mr. Nelson arrived in New Zealand 20 years later by the lnvernc, Mrs. Nelson following in 1875 in tho Reisbog. For some years Mr. Nelson was with the Gear Company in Wellington, hut lie later took up land in Stokes Valley, afterward farming at Palmerston North and To Aroha. He is one of the senior members of the Loyal IJritannia Lodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellows, having joined in 1876. Of a family of 10, there are seven children living, and there are 14 grandchildren. For the last -4 years Mr. and Mrs. Nelson have lived at 22 Wairiki Road, Mount Eden.
