Y.M.O.A. has been matched with the Navy at Dcvonport. lIORNE CUP ACHILLES WINS FINAL Tho opening ' stages of the Home Cup final played at Bland ford Park, yesterday between teams from 11.M.5. Achilles and 11.M.5. AVellington gavo promiso of a very even contest, but tho more experienced players of H.M.S. Achilles gradually dominated play to win by seven clear goals. There was a good attendance when Wellington kicked off against a strong wind and rain and the Achilles goal had some anxious moments. Tho Wellington players intercepted with quicker movements and the half-time score of three goals to Achilles was a flattering reflex of tho play. .In tho second spell, however, Achilles showed out in better combination and except for breakaways by "Wellington which mainly played a defensive game, Achilles made most ! of the play in "Wellington's half. Tho closing stages were marred by an accident to Lund, the Achilles centre-half, who was removed to hospital with an injured knee. Mr. L. Munro, chairman of the Auckland Football Association, presented tho Cup to Wakefield, captain of the Achilles team, on j behalf of the donor, Mr. F. Home, who i was away from Auckland.
