OBITUARY

MRS. MARGARET KAY The death has occurred at Birkdale, at the ago of 89, of Mrs. Margaret Kay, a well-known resident of Birkenhead. Mrs. Kay was the widow of Mr, J. G. Kay, who settled at Birkenhead shortly alter his arrival from Lancashire in 1880. Ho was a prominent fruitgrower and took an active part in local affairs. He • was a member of the Birkenhead Borough Council for many years from its inception in 1888, and in 1911 he was elected Mayor. Mra. Kay ably discharged the duties of mayoress at this period arid always interested herself in community work in -tho district. She is survived by one daughter. Two sons and a daughter predeceased her.
