SHOOTING ACCIDENT
WOUND IN THE BODY VICTIM'S GRAVE CONDITION BROTHER TRIPS WITH GUN [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] PALMERSTON NORTH, Wednesday While a party was out shooting in the hills on Mr. R. T. Laws' property at Ihakara yesterday afternoon Mr. Harold Haley, aged 23, eldest son of Mr. F. Hafey, of Shannon, received a wound from a gun carried by his brother Clive, who tripped and fell, causing the gun to discharge.^ The injured man was carried to the Laws' homestead and then removed by 'ambulance to the Palmerston £sorth Hospital. It was found that the charge had penetrated his abdomen. He is reported to be dangerously ill.
