WORK FOR ANIMALS
ACTIVITIES OF SOCIETY SUCCESSFUL BRIDGE PARTY The final bridge party of tho season given under the auspices of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held yesterday afternoon at the Farmers Trading Company's rooms. About 400 players were present. The speaker of the afternoon, Mr. G. Hunt, referred to the splendid record of work that had been achieved during the many years of the society's existence. Its efforts for the alleviation of distress among animals and for the education of people in their responsibility toward dumb creatures, he said, had been crowned with much success.
The prizes were won as follows: Contract, Mrs. S. Magill; auction, Mrs. Jamieson; five hundred, Mrs. Walker and Mrs. A. A. Anderson.
Members of the bridge committee were:—Mrs. B. J. Marquet, Mrs. J. H. Frances, Mrs. G. Hunt, Mrs. Farmer, Mrs. J. J. Sullivan. Another member, Mrs. V. R. Millard, was responsible for the donation of the original souvenir cards. The hostesses included: —Mrs. V. R. Millard, Mrs. Boultain, Mrs. Brownlow Burt, Mrs. W. D. Mellor, Mrs. Stone Martin. Mrs. T.
