BIRKENHEAD BOROUGH
Consideration was deferred by the Birkenhead Borough Council last night of the proposal by the Auckland Harbour Bridge Company to send a combined deputation from local bodies and organisations concerned to the Prime Minister to the prompt erection of the harbour oritlge. The Mayor, Mr. E. J, Osborne, stated that the Waitemata Harbour Bridge Association was already in touch with the Prime Minister, and until a reply was received it could not move in tW matter. the sanitary, inspector of the Health Department, Mr. C. D. Wykes, advised that 203 premises had been connected with the sewerage system Action was taken to expedite the linking up of properties in the vicinity of the school.
