SPORTS AREA PLANNED The formation of a sports area on Mount- Smart was decided on ns the main objective at the inaugural meeting of the Mount Smart Doniaili Board. Quarrying for scoria, which has been carried on by the Railway Department, will cease tho mountain lias been levelled sufficiently to allow of tho easy re-formation of the area, which comprises 10 acres. The statement of accounts submitted by Mr. H. A. Yockney, town clerk of (jnohuriga, which previously administered the domain, showed a credit balance of £2(vi available, with further sums accruing. "Officers were elected as follows: Chairman, the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Mr. W. I). Arm it; secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. Leese, town clerk of One Tree Hill.
