MATCHES IN PROGRESS (Received September 9, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Sept, 8 In the cricket match Gentlemen v. Players the Gentlemen in their first innings made 325 runs. Goddard took four wickets for 58 and Smafles five for 67. The Players in their first innings scored 304 for five wickets (Fishlock 60, Suteliffe 63, Hardstaff, not out, 62). In the match between Warner's Eleven and a team representing England, Past and Present, the former in the first innings made 173. Wright took six wickets for 72. Past and Present in the second innings scored 329 for eight wickets declared (Fagg 84, Pavnter 83, Hammond 64). Warner's Eleven in the second innings made 21 for no wickets.
