WORK OF ROTORUA LEAGUE j [from our own correspondent] ROTOR/UA, Monday Tributes to the welfare work of the Botorua Women's Health League for Maori women and children were paid on Saturday morning when the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, handed a cheque for £SO to Nurse R. T. Cameron, president of the league's central committee. Among tho guests were Mrs. P. Fraser, wife of the Minister of Health, Mrs. Parry, Mrs. A. F. Moncur, wife of tho member for the district, and Mrs. D. Barnes, wife of the member for Waitaki. Nurse Cameron asked the Minister to convey to the Government the league's appreciation of the gift. She explained that_ the league's operations were undenominational. Tho organisation took a keen interest in all matters for tho improvement of tho health 9f the Maori people, endeavouring to imjpart to native mothers knowledge in the care and feeding of babies, food values, correct methods of cooking and i tho value-of fresh, air and sunahmo.
