A meeting of the Bayswater-Belmont Women's Society was held last week and was presided over by Mrs. C. A. Fraser. An informative address on tea and coffee was given by Mr. L. G. Rimrncr.

Members of the Y.W.C.A. Women's Progress Club met last week. The president, Mrs. R. E. Murdoch, presided. A travel talk was given by Mrs. Hugh Kasper. Hostesses were Mrs. Bray and Mrs. Gaughan.

Miss Violet Mather, elder daughter of Mrs. A. Mather, Grange Road, Mount Eden, who has been nursing in California for several years, arrived by the Monterey on Friday. An expupil of Wanganui Girls' College, Miss Mather was trained in the Auckland Hospital.

An address on her visit to England during the Coronation festivities was given by Mrs. W. H. Parkes at a meeting of the Penwomeil's Club on Friday afternoon. A visitor from California, Mrs. Penman, spoke on the Penwomen's Club in San Diego, and the youth movement in England was the subject of an address by Miss A. Brown, of England.

Preliminary business for the street collection was discussed. The society will share the day with the Victoria League. The committee entertained at afternoon tea Mrs. Clarke, president of the ladies' committee of the Wellington branch.
