WITHDRAWAL DEPLORED CONCERN AT ELLERSLIE Concern over the withdrawal of the metropolitan drainage scheme fioni Parliamentary consideration was expressed last night at the Ellerslie Borough Council meeting, when a letter was received from a resident referring to the storm-water flooding of properties iit'the vicinity of the Penrose area. Mr. S. Pemberton said it was regrettable that the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board's bill had been withdrawn and would not be presented again until next vear. "The position is serious in Ellerslie and if an epidemic broke out here it would concern all Auckland," lie added. It, was decided to make application to the Drainage Board for the inclusion of Ellerslie in its district and to express concern at the withdrawal of the bill.
