SERVICE TO DAIRYING
MR. R. KAY'S RETIREMENT
WORK FOR WAIKATO COMPANIES [from our own corrF.sroxdknt] HAMILTON, Tuesday After being closely associated with the manufac-ture of dairy products in tlio Waiknto for 44 years, Mr. Robert Kay, of Hamilton, district representative of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, will retire on superannuation to-morrow. Mr. Kay's first appointment in connection with dairying was at Henry .Reynolds and Company's butter factory at Ngaruawahia. The output was then 2 tons 2cwt. for the season. Mr. Kay saw service in the company's creameries at Waihou and Pirongia, and later he managed a private creamery for Mr. Reynolds at Newstead. For 10 years ho was employed in a Taupiri creamery. He later travelled the district in support of the New Zealand Dairy Association. When it and the Waiknto Cooperative Dairy Company, Limited were amalgamated in 1919, under the name of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, Mr. Kay became the new company's district representative, a position he has held ever since.
