DANCING AND CARDS

LABOUR PARTY SOCIAL PAPATOETOE COMMITTEE The social committee of the Papatoetoe Labour Party' held a dance aijd card evening in tho Renown Hall on Saturday night. In spite of bad weather there was a large attendance of enthusiastic supporters and friends. Winners of competitions were: Mr. and Mrs. H. Bevell, Mrs. Tenata and Mr. Macßeth, Mrs. Grenfell, Mrs. V. Wilson, Mr. L. B. Ward, Mr. A. J. Hutchinson, Miss A. Bradberg; card winners, Mrs. J. Queen, Mrs. P. Murphy, Miss Poulston, Mr. Nicholson, Mr. Abbott, and Mr. Futtcr. Mr. W. H. Barker and Mr. J. Boner were in charge' of floor arrangements. Dance extras were played by Mrs. Barker. The ladies' committee comprised:— Mrs. Mann, sen., Mrs. N. Macaulay, Mrs. J. Bonar, Mrs. J. Brown, Mrs. W. H. Barker, Mrs. H. Bevell, Mrs. C. Lambert, Mrs. W. Wood, and Mrs. G. Jeavons.
