The weather was rough and only 11 competitors took part. Following were the results:— Morning Medal.—G. Lindsay, SO, lbOS. Afternoon Stableford.—O. J. Philpott and R. Cook, 38. Cook won the play-off. Special Trophy, nine holes, Stableford.— C. Baker, R. Cook and G. Ball. Cook won the toss and the trophy. Owing to wet weather the veterans' cup and handicap events were postponed for a week

LADIES' TEAMS MATCH Teams representing the Clevedon and Otahuhu Ladies' Golf Clubs played a match at Clevedon yesterday, Otahuhu winning by seven games to three, one being all square. The final of the handicap match play competition for the Edwards trophy was played ovor 3(5- holes by members of the Akarana Golf Club. J. C. Mitchell (5) defeated H. E. Bridgens (10) on the 20th irreen by the decisive margin of 11 up and 10 to play. Commencing brilliantly, with an easle three Mitchell paved the way for an excellent morning rouud of 7G to gain a four-hole advantage and. keeping up the pressure, lie allowed Bridgens few opportunities in the afternoon.

WHAU VALLEY CLUB [from our own correspondent]

WHANG-AREI, Monday

In the final for the Powell Cup, plaved by members of the "Whau Valley Golf Club, Frazer-Hurst beat M. Kokicli at the 10th. In the senior championship competition, Georgcson beat A. Martin, 2 and 1, while in the junior championship Dallas beat Going, and Wilkinson beat Keay.

WHAKATANE CLUB'S GAMES [from our own correspondent]

Tho first round of the Whakatane Golf Club's championships resulted as follows: Senior. —llorrocks beat Rangi, J and 3; Powdrill beat Llyland, 4 and 3; Napier won from Penlington by default. Intermediate: Reynolds beat Cullard, 4 and 3; Spence beat A. Clark, 3 and 'J: B. White and Campbell trained places on the play-off. Junior: Alexander beat Barry, 3 and 1; lv. Morpeth beat Norriss, 5 and 3; 1). C. Morpeth beat Newman, 4 and 3; Marx beat Preston, 4 and 2. A one-club match caused considerable interest and some very good scores were returned, the best being Patience, on, 24—75, and Lander, SO. 14—75, the former winning on the count-back.
