NEW DEPRESSION
ECONOMIST SEES SIGNS ALL INDUSTRIES AFFECTED LONDON, Auprust 22 Tho director of tho London School of Economics and Political Sciences, Sir William Beveridge, told the British Association to-day that the history of the first stages of the last depression was being repeated. Textiles and manufactures were leading to recession, he said. An examination of the course of unemployment showed that all industries were affected by cyclical fluctuations. There was a striking measure of agreement between the onset of tho 1930 depression and the beginning of the present recession, subject to minor differences like armaments and the harvest, the influence of which apparently was a factor in the trade cycle.
